A suggested name for each file

RenameClick reads available document text, analyzes images and scanned PDF first pages, or uses locally transcribed speech. Long text and recordings are limited before naming, so some details may be outside the analyzed content.

Choose a provider and add supported files in Rename.

Select a format, or a custom naming prompt, and run analysis.

Edit suggestions and click Rename Selected.

Control the final names

Use built-in instructions with a format and output language, or a custom prompt that specifies the whole name. Keep original IDs, add dates or counters, and use Find & Replace on suggestions. Custom prompts disable ordinary Format and Output Language.

Choose whether the file moves

Rename only changes the name in place. Categorize only keeps the name and moves the file. Enable both for Rename & Move. Extensions are preserved; conflicting target names are made unique.

Rename workspace Undo retains up to 10 entries in memory and clears on restart. It is not a permanent operation history.

Choose how folders are assigned

Local analysis and installation

Choose Local for on-device analysis after downloading its model. Optional cloud providers in the direct macOS and Windows builds use your API key and receive content for analysis; their charges are separate. The Mac App Store build excludes cloud providers.

Analysis does not use RenameClick credits. Free includes 30 renames or moves each month. Renaming and moving one file in the same action uses one credit; failed changes use none. Pro removes the apply limit. External API charges are separate.
